craft time!

I made crafts!!

I found this tutorial on how to make yarn letters and I thought it would be a really cheap way to decorate/add color to our white walls in our living room.  The walls are still a little empty, but I thought it was a nice fix for the boring walls!  It's super easy too if you want to make them.
After making them, it's made me want to make more... and more... hmm... baby room decorating perhaps??

Also, I ordered some cork board to do another project... it's turning out to be much more complicated than I thought it would be unfortunately... well, since I had it around the house, I thought I'd make use with the roll.  I cut out a bunch of squares (because the roll is too thin and the thumbtacks would punch holes in the wall too) so I glued a bunch together and double-stick taped them to the walls and voila! I have my own little mini cork boards!  Keeps my desk [somewhat] more organized.

My whole family-- all three of them-- are flying in for Thanksgiving today!! I'm picking them up in about an hour!! So excited!
Our first Thanksgiving as a married couple... my first Thanksgiving where I have to prepare it.... Hopefully no catastrophes... like an open fire from throwing the turkey into the dryer to defrost it. (have you seen New Girl?? This past episode made me laugh so hard!)

Wish me luck!

  1. awesome!! Makes me want to make yarn letters too. They look great.

I had the same issue with cork board where stores seem to sell rolls pretty inexpensively but it's too thin to use push pins in. Smart dear lady, you are smart.
