another milestone: check!

one day, Auden sat up. before this, he was tipping over every time i tried to get him to use those back muscles, and then, out of the blue, he decided he'd share this amazing anti-scoleosis workout of sitting up so straight and strong!  I was so proud and squealed with joy!! Pretty much all of these pictures are of him demonstrating that act and all of the many activities he can accomplish while doing it.

our little baby Beethoven.
we have a piano in the basement of our apartment building. i like to take Auden and have him "learn" the piano. he seems to really like the cause/effect of the piano.

this is one of auden's friends, lillian. She was born just a few days before him! some friends in our ward hosted an ultimate frisbee game and so the mamas with the babies stayed out and we all played together. i love this picture. look at that posture!!
{p.s. this is how my mom sits......}

bed head.

i added these pictures because i LOVE his arms. look at that chub!! and those cheeks!
mommy's big guy is right!! :D

Auden is very cautious, yet adventurous at the same time. he likes to sit and examine what is in front of him, then go for it. he'll sit there, stare, and then once he's slowly got his hands on something and it seems interesting, he'll continue to work on perfecting whatever it is that's in front on him. then he'll want something new. we are always having to find something new for him to play with these days... note the tupperware and empty spaghetti box. he loves to rip at paper and cardboard. he's a pro!

Lately, Auden likes to rest. he's learned that he can lay his head down and just pause instead of crying for us to help him. :) ah... the slow growth of independence.
this was one of my favorite moments though. I gave him a book to look at as he was laying down and he stopped squirming for a moment and just laid there... with his head on my lap. turning the pages and babbling to himself, occasionally looking up and smiling at me. he has such a sweet little heart.

we walked to the Prudential Center (which is sooo close to where we live) for the first time and it was GREAT! the fountains were beautiful, the architecture is so impressive and breathtaking.

before haircut (for both of them).....

after haircut!!! haircut #4: CHECK!

see the difference in nelson's hair too??

and then this one. oh that boy.
look at the feet! those little hands! that smile!
he kills me....

  3. That posture is fantastic! We can all learn from him (and your mom :). The haircut made him look sooooooooooo much older--in an incredibly handsome but also sad he's growing up way. That's incredible that it's his 4th haircut, he has great genes.
